About 

History of St. Stephen’s Knanaya Church, Maynard, MA, USA


St. Stephen's Knanaya church follows the Syriac Orthodox Christian faith and traditions. St. Stephen's Knanaya Church got incorporated as a religious and charitable organization on May 24, 1991. On February 13, 1992, we bought the property at 182 Main Street in Maynard, MA.  On August 15, 1992, His Eminence Kuberneethi Hakkimo Abraham Mor Clemis Metropolitan consecrated and celebrated the Holy Qurbana and blessed the congregation.


The Silver Jubilee of St. Stephen's Knanaya church was celebrated on August 20 & 21, 2017, with a Munninmel Qurbana and the chief Celebrant, His Eminence Kuriakose Mor Severious, our present Samudaya Metropolitan.


The church's first vicar was Very Rev. Dr. Abraham Thomas Cor Episcopa, Followed by Rev. Fr. Punnoose Abraham Kallamparampil -(Current Vicar), assisted by Rev. Anup Kuruvilla Vazhayil.
